On Friday 1st April 2011, members of the New Zealand team, Noor Ali, Zinnia Al Mashat, Zina Al Bayaa and Ghassan Yagot-Araji were invited to a dinner with the Iraqi Ambassador to Australia H.E Mr Mouayed Saleh along with many prominent members of the New Zealand Iraqi community.  

At this dinner, his Excellency expressed how delighted he was at seeing the Iraqi youth so involved in the humanitarian issues in Iraq and how important it was to plant a seed of humanitarianism in the younger generation. The team were presented with a small gift from the Embassy and were asked to say a few words on behalf of Walk for Iraq. The presentation was aired on Al Iraqiya Satellite TV Channel.
